Support the Supply of Pharmacy Medicines with

S2/S3 Pharmacy Assistant Training Course

SIRCIND002 – Support the Supply of Pharmacy Medicines and Pharmacist Only Medicines Course

Medicines play a vital role in assisting people with their health and well-being. Medicines prevent, cure or manage disease and illness, relieve symptoms, and improve quality of life. However, when they are used incorrectly, medicines and other therapeutic products may exacerbate certain conditions and even be harmful.

There are legal requirements related to ensuring that that recommended medicines are used correctly and safely. It is important when working in a pharmacy that you comply with all legal requirements, and follow all procedures and industry standards.

This unit applies to pharmacy and dispensary assistant roles in a community pharmacy, working under the direction of a pharmacist. This unit is a pre-requisite for several other units within community pharmacy qualifications.

It incorporates the legal requirements associated with pharmacy-only, and pharmacist-only medicines, and pharmacy/dispensary assistants’ job-role requirements when assisting customers with S2 & S3 medicine enquiries and purchases.

The focus of this course is gaining the skills and knowledge to obtain and interpret information on the legislative and process framework regarding S2 and S3 class medicines.
